Body tapping (cfr lesson 5)
We started with “We Will Rock You” and the body tapping we learned last lesson. I thought this shouldn’t be the first thing in the lesson as a warming up. Because the “crowd” wasn’t warmed up yet, the first few try-outs were without much energy. I believe that if we should have done the warming up first, more energy would have been put into (and received from) the body tapping. In this case only the last tryout I could start to feel the energy…
Warming up
So after this we did the usual warming up dancing on a song by DJ Tiesto. As I said, I think this should have been the first part. But then again… both things are to get into the mood of dancing…
Theatrical dance
So we continued our little dance based on “the Wall” by Pink Floyd. So we rehearsed what we had so far… And then added a few next things.
After forcing the women to the ground, the men had to watch to the left and the right slowly as if looking for intruders in their domain. Think male, chauvinist pig thoughts.
Afterwards the men take the imaginary strings attached to the women’s head and lift it up, let it down and lift it again. Then take the strings attached to her hands and move those up and down. And finally use those strings to lift her to her feet and have her walk as a puppet. The grand finale was that we had to let her hit herself by using those strings. But I’m afraid from next week on the women will get their revenge.
Sensual dancing exercises
This was a series of exercises and combinations of techniques. First there was the different style of Ying (female, rounded, caressing) versus Yan (male, hard, body tapping). And secondly the various techniques were: non-touching – self-touching – touching soft – touching hard. Combine a style and a technique and you have 8 different styles of sensual dancing.
I didn’t really find this exercise exiting at that moment but when I look back, a lot of interesting things could be observed. There is the young girl I from lesson 4… she was very timid and built the wall around her again. Even when there was a part of “question and answer” she always went back to just standing there and not moving at all. Just afraid of touching me (or others). At one moment Sage (see lesson 4) and me were left when the rest was dancing. So we had no choise other than to sensual dance with eachother
I have to admit that I had to turn a swicht in my head before I could do just that. Sensual dancing with a male. Somehow that does feel “wrong”. That’s society indoctrination for ya… But we handled it quite well. However, when the young boy (the one that made the remark about Lenore’s perfume in lesson 2 ) had to dance with another male, me or Sage, he completely lost it… As always, Lenore was EXTREMELY sensual in her dancing. She always was, always will be… And I have to admit: I still enjoy watching her do it.
“You can leave your hat on”
After the exercises it was time to do the real work. The teacher picked me for an act of striptease. Well, not the full monty!!!! No, just a slow striptease act together, sensual, seductive and before an audience (the rest of the class) on the tones of “You can leave your Hat on”. Although I did feel a little embarassed at first (I don’t like to be in the focus-lights) we did well and I overcame my embarassment.
I think it was a good “opener”. Secondly Sage and one of the women did their performance which was very good too.
Afterwards the young boy and the young girl (who are lovers) performed. Although they normally are quite closed off from showing their emotions, they did very well. They just imagined there was no crowd and just danced for eachother. Which is fine I guess. They experienced their feelings AND expressed them.
Thirdly the older women (lesson 5) chose me as her partner. So we did our “Thang”. And guess what, we had an enthousiastic crowd
People even started to wonder if there was some kind of magic between me and the woman. They were disappointed when we stopped. But to be honest, we stopped because we had no more inspiration LOL.
But I have to admit: it felt weird being “sensual” and “sexy”. I never perceive myself like that. First of all, dancing like this felt weird. But also, being in the spotlight felt weird. Normally I’m the guy that stays behind the scenes. And now, I was in the spotlight AND I received an enormous amount of good comments. Wow! Who would have thought?
Oh I almost forgot. After me was Lenore’s turn. She was dancing with Sage. And at first Sage really looked at ease. But Lenore increased the heat on him. God, she was using every trick in her book to make him sweat! Normally Sage is someone who has about everything under control. But here? No way! Lenore was in control and everyone knew it.Damn, she was hot! She may not be the prettiest girl in the world, but when she wants to be hot… molten rock is like icecream!
“In the arms of an Angel”
This lesson there was no “In the Arms of an Angel” as previous times. This time the lights went out and a slow, sensual song began. We could do whatever we want. But ofcourse, everyone searched for a dansing partner and started slowing (I guess. I couldn’t see, right…). At first I danced with the older lady again, and after a few moments the teacher came and “hijacked” me. It was nice, but I liked the original “Arms” better…
The Guardian Angel game
Hmm… huge things in this game… In the beginning of the class, we received 2 pages of “statistics” on the status of the game. Who’s using what nickname? Who is whose Guardian Angel? Etc. Once again, I can’t comment too much on the game since some participants may come and read here. But I know this: my protégé has no clue who I am. Well, at least she didn’t when she filled in the forms… And me? I know who my Angel is, but I think I had the wrong nickname linked to him/her. And now I come to think of it… If the new name I have in mind is correct, that COULD explain some things I didn’t understand of my Stone (lesson 4).
About the gifts we got this lesson: So I received a letter from my protégé. He/She writes about the thoughts about me changed. Apparently, I was doing the right stuff all of the time but my protégé couldn’t really connect. But the last few days apparently my protégé worked on his/her self-image and suddenly all the pieces of the puzzle re-arranged themselves. He/She gives some hints that my identity is uncovered. But is it really? Or does my protégé just THINK he/she knows it? The letter was ended with three personal questions that I have to answer next lesson.
I also received a gift from my Guardian Angel. A personal item that has meaning for him/her. The gift surprised me. But fortunately, a small note was included that explained the gift. And yes, after the explanation the gift is (once again) bull’s eye. Not only the gift had a personal meaning to my Guardian Angel. It also relates to me and my problems of lately. So in some ways, my Guardian Angel and me are alike. Maybe more than appeared at first sight. A “Swan” doesn’t resemble an “Eel”…
The lesson my Angel had to learn, is at least part the same as I have to learn… He/She had to learn that whatever you seek elsewhere (power, dignity) may have been carried with you all of the time. The difference is that I KNOW I’m bearing it. I’m just wondering WHY THE HELL I’m bearing it… Do I WANT to carry it? What’s the use of it? But I guess I have no choise. I’m me. And I always will be. To cast off my bearings would mean to deny myself. Well, I guess I’m stuck with myself, so I better learn how to live with me
For next lesson we have to prepare food for our protégé, find a “summer” gift for our Angel and come to the next lesson body-painted. We have to “decorate” ourselves with body art. Do something weirs/strange with our hair. Would be easier if I had some LOL. Jeez… who thinks of these task LOL
Oh and as I said, to answer the letter we received today.
